In brief: LoveQR combines Swiss-developed technology with application data hosted in Germany. Public and intimate profiles are separate. AES-256 protects certain local caches, not end-to-end synchronised conversations. A QR lets you share a profile instead of a phone number, but cannot guarantee a risk-free meeting.
Swiss development, application data in Germany
LoveQR is developed in Switzerland according to its publisher. Its Lovable Cloud application database is in Frankfurt, Germany. “Made in Switzerland” describes software origin, not certification or Swiss hosting. Web delivery, payments, email and external services are separate processing activities; this location does not promise every provider keeps all data in Germany.
What AES-256 actually protects
Certain device-side caches use AES-256. Server exchanges use HTTPS and social data is subject to access controls. Synchronised messages are processed server-side: they are not end-to-end encrypted. A compromised device, a copied profile or a malicious person remain risks; no technology can promise absolute security.
Location during AR, chosen presence at places
Position can update while using the map or AR to place content. The app does not provide background GPS tracking. A post stays attached to its place, rather than following its author down the street. Checking in is voluntary; recent presence may remain visible for up to 48 hours depending on options. It is not a live-location indicator.
Share less and choose your audience
Public and intimate profiles are not merged. Choose your profile and audience before sharing a QR, post or presence. You can communicate without giving your phone number, but authorised recipients can see and copy the information you put in a profile. Blocking, deletion and access withdrawal cannot erase an existing screenshot.
Data, advertising and rights
LoveQR’s policy commits to no data resale and no advertising tracking. Internal usage measurement exists: no advertising does not mean no measurement. Local storage is preferred; accounts, shared content and conversations require server data. GDPR and Swiss nFADP commitments, rights and deletion requests are documented in the legal notice, not independently certified by this page.
Accessibility and fair comparison
Settings include protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia modes. This does not certify accessibility or guarantee every screen suits every situation. Competitors also offer protections: happn says exact location is not shown; Tinder documents privacy controls and its policy. The comparison describes mechanisms without a security score or claiming LoveQR removes risk.

Common questions
Are messages end-to-end encrypted?
No. AES-256 concerns local caches; synchronised messaging uses HTTPS and server access controls.
Are people tracked along the street?
Posts have a place and presence is voluntary. GPS can be used during open AR, without intended background tracking.
Is data hosted in Switzerland?
The application database is in Germany. Swiss software origin does not imply Swiss hosting for all services.
